We have our own lodge in Kruger area, called:
The name is not a coincidence. Our lodge is perfectly located between Kruger National Park (Orpen gate is a 30 minutes drive) and the Drakensberg escarpment (the famous Panorama Route is also about 30 minutes away). So our lodge is ideally located to visit both these attractions.
Our lodge borders the Blyde Canyon reserve. The mountain views are spectacular. All cottages have this magnificent view, from all rooms, and from all decks.
Every cottage has a large deck with covered dining area, a BBQ, a private plunge pool, sun loungers and an outdoor "bucket shower".
All our cottages offer 100% privacy, in both the rooms as well as on their decks.
Every cottage is about 60 square meters in size, and has a large living area with kitchen/dining area/lounge area, an airconditioned bedroom, and a bathroom with separate toilet.
The fully equipped kitchen is very modern and has all appliances you can wish for (microwave, toaster, ceramic hob, kettle, fridge, freezer, etc). Of course there is a dishwasher as well.
The lounge area has a sleeper couch for the kids. We can hang a mozzie net and there's a ceiling fan. Kids pay only 25% of adults rate, when using the sleeper couch.
All bedrooms have extra length beds under a large mozzie net. They can be made up as one large king size bed or two single beds. The bathroom has a double wash basin and a walk-in shower.
We also have a family cottage with an extra bedroom. This bedroom is upstairs and has the same beds, air conditioning, etc. The bathroom is slightly different (it does have a walk-in shower but only one wash basin). It doesn't have an outdoor shower, but it has a private terrace with a spectacular view.
Kruger Cliffs is a aimed at customers who like to cook their own meals or who like to go out to eat. After all there's plenty of supermarkets, butchers and restaurants in the neighbourhood.
However, we do offer various breakfast-, lunch-, and BBQ-packs as well.
People who like to cook their own meals, often also like to plan their own day trips. That is absolutely no problem; we can add a rental car to your travel proposal.
However, if you do not like to drive yourself; Kruger Cliffs offers a wide range of day trips with private guide and -vehicle, and you may have a bit of difficulty choosing the trips you prefer to fill your days with while staying at our lodge.
We provide daily open vehicle safari trips to Kruger National Park and Manyeleti Private Reserve. Also worth checking out are the Panorama Route and local attractions such as Jessica The Hippo, Moholoholo Animal Rehab Centre, Hoedspruit Reptile Centre, a hot air balloon ride over the area, and a boat trip on the Blyde Dam. You can easily reach all of these with your own (rental) car ... or we will take you there!
Our specialties; helicopter flights over Blyde Canyon, and 4x4 climbs of Mariepskop Mountain!
The helicopter takes off from our private heli-pad, flying over the Blyde Canyon before finally landing on a mountain top. The return flight goes along the steep cliffs that form the border between highveld and lowveld. Landing at the lodge, at your front door, where a glass of bubbles is waiting for you!
The 4x4 trip to Mariepskop is carried out in collaboration with a specialized guide from the local community in our neighbourhood. The mountain has many spectacular views, and biotopes that you would not expect at all (rainforest, fynbos, ...). Unlike the Panorama Route; you are often alone here. This trip is an absolute must for landscape photographers and bird watchers.
Whatever day trips you choose; don't forget to set aside some time to enjoy your cottage and pool!
Our cottages only cost about 60£ / 75$ (2024) per person per night. The only exception are a few high season periods where you'd pay about 10£ / 10$ per person per night extra.
But it can even be cheaper than that. We offer a 10% reduction for bookings of more than 7 nights. And if you book directly with us, we can offer you an additional discount.
